The Motivation at Work Project with Sodexo

Each year we lead a dedicated team on a research project on a specific theme relating to Sodexo’s strategy. Marwyn is leading the current study on ‘Motivation at Work’ as part of the Chair in Quality of Daily Life.

For many of today’s most successful companies, people represent a key asset and source of competitive advantage; managing this resource effectively through tailored motivation and engagement practices enables organizations to leverage this asset to improve employee satisfaction, motivation, well-being, and retention; and also to optimize performance, creativity and innovation. Companies exemplifying successful and sustainable people management include Google, Southwest Airlines, Microsoft, Mayo Clinic, HCL, Michelin, and many more.

The Motivation at Work study seeks to identify innovative and optimal strategies for motivating employees in companies on a local and global level which is in line with Sodexo’s strategy for improving quality of life. As the Chief Executive of Sodexo emphasizes, “Sodexo is a provider of solutions that improve quality of life: for employee motivation, the effectiveness of business processes and organizations as well as the sustainability of their infrastructure.”
